ZBrush's Morph UV Feature Recreated In Maya

"Looks like footage from the dawn of 3D."

Drawing inspiration from a ZBrush feature that flattens a 3D mesh into its UV layout, shiba_tsukune created a Maya script to replicate the effect. There's a special charm in how the UVs connect in low-poly models, and this one uses only 256 polygons:

Inspired by shiba_tsukune, npr2021 created a similar setup in Blender using Geometry Nodes:

But of course, shiba_tsukune wasn't the first to attempt this, it seems Im3dJoe created a similar tool for Maya years ago:
