ZibraVDB: Real-Time Volumetric Rendering In UE5 & Houdini

Seamlessly compress OpenVDB effects by up to 100 times and render them in real-time.

Traditional approaches to real-time rendering of volumetric effects are challenging for virtual production due to their massive data requirements and long rendering times, limiting them to non-real-time software.

Ukrainian company Zibra AI has unveiled ZibraVDB, their newest solution for Unreal Engine and Houdini, designed to streamline real-time volumetric VFX creation and provide full control over OpenVDB sequences.

Typically, compression tends to degrade the quality of effects, requiring a compromise between quality and file size. ZibraVDB addresses this issue by delivering a high level of compression with minimal visual degradation. This enables the use of large OpenVDB effects in real-time, significantly saving resources and reducing processing time.
