Revopoint 3D is a global leader in high-precision 3D vision and scanning technology, founded in 2014 by a team with backgrounds from Xi'an Jiaotong University, MIT, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. What started as a small team focused on making 3D scanning more accessible has grown into a vertically integrated company that designs its own micro and nano optical chips, builds its own 3D vision algorithms, and develops the AI behind its scanning software in house. The product lineup covers a wide range of needs. On the portable side, scanners like the POP 4, MINI 2, and INSPIRE 2 are built for small to medium objects, handheld, lightweight, and easy to pick up without a steep learning curve. For larger or more complex jobs, the standalone MIRACO and MIRACO Plus combine scanning and processing in a single all-in-one device, while the MetroY, MetroY Pro, and MetroX series bring metrology-grade blue laser scanning to industrial measurement and reverse engineering work.

At the high end, the Trackit and Trackit SR use markerless optical tracking to scan large or reflective surfaces, like vehicle bodies or industrial parts, without the setup time that traditional scanning usually requires. Revopoint rounds out its hardware with its own CAD and measurement software, Revo Measure and Revo Design, which take a scan straight into a production-ready model for inspection, quality control, or reverse engineering.

What makes Revopoint especially relevant for the game development and digital art community is how directly its scanners plug into creative workflows. Instead of building assets from scratch or relying on reference photos, artists can scan a real object or environment and bring an accurate, detailed 3D model straight into their pipeline, cutting modeling time dramatically for character work, environment art, CGI, and VR or AR projects. The same technology that helps engineers reverse-engineer a mechanical part is just as useful for a game artist capturing a prop, a sculptor digitizing a maquette, or a studio building out a photogrammetry-driven world.
