007 First Light Has Become IO Interactive's Fastest-Selling Game
In just two weeks!
007 First Light was released on May 27, 2026, and in less than two weeks has sold an estimated 3 million copies and generated over $150 millions in revenue, becoming the fastest-selling game by IO Interactive.
This is an action-adventure game where you follow a young and reckless James Bond when he was a recruit in MI6's training programme. In an interview with IGN, Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, announced the amount of sales.
The game is also getting very positive reactions, with an 87 on Metacritic. IGN gave it a 9/10 in their review, saying: "Demonstrably obsessed with bringing the Bond fantasy to life in a way no one has ever managed before, 007 First Light is the best Bond game I’ve ever played."
Abrak also said that getting those results was extremely emotional, considering it took them almost seven years to finish the game.
The story of the game seems to hint that there will be a sequel, and IO Interactive has said they have plans to make a trilogy, but it's not clear if this will occur, especially because Amazon has the rights to James Bond.
"We have a great relationship with Prime Video, where this licence collaboration is residing. They're here today, and we're just high-fiving and having a good time. There will be information about this in the future. But for now, it's just First Light 007 and just enjoying what's happening right now."

An interesting fact is that the game achieved 3 million copies sold without considering the Nintendo Switch 2 version, which is expected to come out this summer.
