10-Year-Old UE4 Tech Demo Re-Lit With Unreal Engine 5

The artist utilized UE5's Lumen and Volumetric Fog to completely revamp the looks of the old demo.

VFX Artist and Unreal Engine enthusiast Dylan Browne unveiled a cool new project that will likely bring some nostalgia tears to your eyes. This time, the artist has upgraded a 10-year-old Elemental Demo for Unreal Engine 4 and completely re-lit the entire demo using UE5.1.

The project's description states that the demo was improved using UE5's Lumen and Volumetric Fog without using ray-traced Lumen, "as it didn't add much to this particular scene". The entire project took just one day to complete and, according to the artist, isn't just a straight conversion, as the original demo was lit with Static Lighting and fake Bounce Lights.
