A 16-year-old 3D Artist and Musician, known online as Nolan/R0NIN, has proven once again that even a 2-second piece of test footage can captivate thousands by showcasing an incredibly mesmerizing axis test demo depicting a smooth mechanical hand rig playing around with Move, Rotate, and Scale gizmos, made for a 3D model of Nolan's original character.
Although it wasn't explicitly stated by the creator, the hand was most likely modeled, rigged, and animated in Blender, a popular open-source 3D software and Nolan's go-to tool. In response to the community's positive feedback, the artist also released a follow-up demo with finalized models, improved lighting, and upgraded animation:
