1666: Amsterdam is a Dark Story-Driven Action Game from the Creator of Assassin's Creed

I'm not going to lie, I think it looks good.

Patrice Désilets, Co-Creator of Assassin's Creed, reannounced at Summer Game Fest 1666 Amsterdam, which is a title that has re-emerged after 15 years.

1666: Amsterdam will be a third-person story-led action-adventure game that will give a glimpse of a world shaped by centuries of hidden influence, this time playing as Noa Brooklyn, who uses magic against the Originals as a Collector.

The story will be told in three timelines: 1666, 1999, and the present day. Each will have secrets that need to be uncovered. You'll have to choose a companion for your journey, and you'll have to also discover the purpose of Noa.

1666: Amsterdam was originally in development at THQ Montreal in 2014, but later the studio went bankrupt, and the project was cancelled. That same year, Désilets founded Panache, and then he won back the creative rights of the game.

"For the past six years, we've focused on one thing above all else: the game itself. No fake footage, no vertical slices, just a playable experience evolving build after build, day after day. Today, we're finally ready to invite players into that process. The free prologue available now on Steam and Epic Games Store is only a small taste of what's to come, an amuse-bouche before a nine-course dinner, an introduction to the world, its characters, and its different time periods. We hope players will enjoy discovering it as much as we've enjoyed creating it."

– Patrice Désilets

The Co-Creator added in the presentation that the game is launching to Early Access later this year, and that at the moment, players can download a free 30-minute playable prologue on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
