Three and a half minutes of pouts, mimics, and unfiltered wholesomeness to help you cope with the end of Frieren Fridays.
If you, much like yours truly, are still a bit upset that the first season of Sousou no Frieren has ended, here's something amazing to cheer you up and let you dive back into the universe, even if just for a little while.
CG Artist Hiro Japan has recently presented a short fan-made movie that pays tribute to the most highly-ranked anime of all time and features multiple cute and funny 3D animations portraying the adventures of Frieren and Fern. Using character models set up by Hiro and rigged by 3DCG Artist GACCHI, whom you might remember for their recent experiments with the boneDynamicsNode, the movie was made using Maya, Shoost, mGear, and Adobe software.
What's most remarkable about this project is the number of 3D Animators involved in its creation. Despite using the same character models, the project attracted not just one, two, or even ten artists, but a whopping 32 individuals, ranging from aspiring creators to seasoned veterans. Each artist contributed their own short animation, which were then combined into one fan-made love letter to the series. You can watch the full animation attached above or by visiting Hiro Japan's YouTube channel.
