3D Artists Imagined The Legend Of Zelda As Fortiche-Style Film In Blender

Pau Homs and Josep Castaño also released a 20-minute breakdown of the project.

The impact of Arcane on the modern art scene is undeniable. Even though the show has ended, we're still seeing a wealth of artwork and animation inspired by it, with artists continuing to explore and experiment with its distinctive style.

Pau Homs and Josep "Vel" Castaño weren't happy with Nintendo's plans for a live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda, so they decided to take matters into their own hands by creating a short animation inspired by the visual style of Arcane. After a year and a half of off-and-on work, the project is finally complete, and you can watch it above.

Josep was responsible for the animation, and Pau handled the rest: modeling, rigging, materials, lighting, and compositing. If you'd like a behind-the-scenes look, the artists released an in-depth breakdown, covering the backstory and the entire production process, from modeling and animation to FX:

Pau works as a Lighting Artist at Disney by day and also creates a variety of tutorial videos on his YouTube channel that are well worth checking out:

And if you're looking to learn the Arcane style, check out our interviews with artists like Anna Dutko, Alena Shunenkova, Lora Kolori, Alexandre Mougenot, Ricardo Sánchez Moreira, and many others:
