3D Gaussian Splat Of London's Tower Bridge During 1930s

Krzysztof Szkoda traveled back in time.

3DGS has been used by many artists to preserve memories, such as Jörg Kahlhöfer's snowy streets of Hamburg or Azad Balabanian's old Toyota 4Runner, but Krzysztof Szkoda went a little further into history.

Normally, 3D Gaussian Splatting requires multiple images. Krzysztof used SHARP, a project that reconstructs a single image into a 3D environment using the depth and focus data from the shot. The artist then imported it into Blender using the KIRI Engine add-on. If you work with photogrammetry and Blender, you might be interested in the new free release from KIRI Engine called Mesh Wrap.
