Snowy Hamburg Street Captured With 3D Gaussian Splatting

Watch Jörg Kahlhöfer experimenting with different lighting.

With Europe and the UK gripped by freezing weather, Jörg Kahlhöfer took advantage of Hamburg's snow-covered streets to create a 3D memory of the scene. In the video, you can see him trying out different lighting setups in OctaneRender.

"Combined with Octane's physically based lighting and lens simulation, it really starts to feel like virtual photography, but with full creative control," said the artist. Previously, he experimented with path-traced 3DGS:
