3D Pallet Jacks Shivering under Pressure, or Difficulties of Working with Virtual Physics

Collision is no joke.

If you've played more than 5 games in your life, I'm sure you've seen some bizarre physics anomalies. They are especially jarring for developers, as it's their job to fix everything that doesn't sit right.

Take these pallet jacks as an example, shivering as if they are cold, to the annoyance of their creator, solo developer Chris from Toque, Eh? Media, who is working on Fulfillment Center Simulator in Unreal Engine.

You might think that the issue is hiding in collision, with the pallets and jacks touching and the physics engine adding bouncing. However, the creator says that the jacks jitter when moving even without anything on top. If you have an idea how to fix it, you should leave a comment under the Reddit post.

The game is still in early development, so meanwhile, check out this fascinating liquid simulation algorithm that moves like a living thing because of a bug.
