What do you know about UDIMs? U-Dimension is a modification to the UV mapping workflow that is all about making things more flexible, especially when it comes to VFX. UDIM concepts can be difficult, but they’re definitely worth it.

Having a hard time dealing with the topic? FlippedNormals has a nice video guide to UDIMs with some modeling and texturing essentials. Henning Sanden and Morten Jaeger discussed the basic theory, giving some tips on visual effects.

In this video tutorial, we talk about UDIMs and why they are important. We cover the theory of how it works and production tips from the VFX field.
