A Diablo 4 Player Managed to Deal Infinite Damage on PTR Server

A Diablo 4 player has managed to exceed the damage limit in the game and reached a status where damage numbers are no longer displayed, with the game displaying the infinity symbol ∞ instead.

Rob2628, a Diablo veteran and influencer, shared this moment with the community via a YouTube video. Inspired by the finding of his Chinese friend, he presented how infinite damage had been achieved and explained that the infinity symbols appeared as Blizzard gave up on displaying the specific numbers. 

As shown in the video, Rob2628 controls a “spin-to-win” barbarian who keeps spinning on the targets, which creates billions of damage that keep going crazy. The damages keep going due to an insane attack speed fueled by the whirlwind skill. Luckily enough, some coincident combination and interaction between a few new skills, plus the unknown bug on the playtest server, formed a rare situation of what we see here.

Notably, this can only be done on the playtest server for the game’s upcoming update, which is coming next month, and as Rob puts it, it will by no means be made to the live game.
