A Lifelike Portrait of a Witcher Bearing Fresh Scars From the Path

Made with ZBrush, Maya, and Substance 3D Painter.

Take a look at this impressive digital portrait of a witcher marked with fresh scars from the Path – a period from Spring to Winter when witchers leave their schools to hunt down monsters – created by Philipp Balovnev, a 3D Character Artist at Mundfish.

With the help of Kirill Titov, Vladimir Uryadov, and Sonu Biswas, the character, as well as his highly detailed outfit and claymore, were crafted using Maya, ZBrush, RizomUV, and Substance 3D Painter. Additionally, Philipp utilized Maya's instancing tool XGen to set up the witcher's hairstyle and stubble.

"It was a difficult project, but it's done, hope you like it, big thanks for support on ArtStation! It will be a series of posts about this witcher, so you'll see him again soon," the author commented, suggesting this project is kicking off an entire series. Attached below are some of the renders shared by the creator, you can check out more by visiting Philipp's ArtStation page:
