A Look at Dense Grass Performance in UE5.1 With Nanite

Environment Artist Nikjas Adam has learned something remarkable about Nanite in Unreal Engine 5.1.

Environment Artist Nikjas Adam has learned that Nanite works with Masked and Two-Sided Materials and with Pivot Painter Wind in Unreal Engine 5.1. "The default RHI of UE 5.1 is DirectX 12. It also works well with the Quixel Trees because they are mid poly," comments the artist. "I found out that Nanite is still not good at rendering High Poly Trees because the more cards a tree has, the smaller they are and the geometry gets called quickly with distance."
