The environment was created to learn more about lighting and level design.
3D Environment Artist Fazal Ullah Khan Taemoor unveiled The Golden Valley, a new stunning medieval-looking environment with strong Lord of the Rings vibes. According to the artist, the scene was made to learn more about worldbuilding, level art, lighting, and composition. The project's description states that the hero assets were created by the author in 3ds Max, Maya, and ZBrush to better fit into the story. Additionally, the artist utilized Megascans assets to build the scene and Unreal Engine 5 too tie everything together.
The author also wrote a short story that gives some depth and background to the environment:
"At dusk, she finally arrived at the high gate. Once the entrance to the magnificent castle, this broken arch was now often unguarded. Sun was setting behind the western mountains of the Golden Valley. Calm but vengeful, just like the river below, she was looking for allies in the town once ruled by her khan Baba. She must enter the Creed’s Inn to see that mysterious old man. With his help, she will cross the river at midnight and climb up the castle from the dark side. That is where her plans ended."
What's more, the artist has also released a detailed breakdown of the project where he talked about the idea behind the scene, shared the workflow, and talked about the objectives that were set before the creation process. You can check out the full breakdown here.
