A Realistic Vehicle Damage System Created in Unity

The system works with almost any vehicle in Unity with minimum setup.

Independent Game Developer known as Studio Tatsu has showcased an awesome-looking Vehicle Damage System, created in Unity. According to the creator, the resulting soft-mesh system works with almost any vehicle in Unity with minimum setup. Free models from Sketchfab were used to test stability. You can check out how this system turns cars into scrap metal in the video above.

"This system works on PC and Mobile in 30–60 FPS, depending on the vert count. However, there are still other things to consider to support the modding community, so I plan to develop a tool to validate the models for optimal destruction and deformation," comments the developer.
