Add Procedural Tears to Your 3D Cloth With This Blender Add-on

Nodes Interactive's new Geometry Nodes plug-in lets you use brush strokes to give your fabrics a worn and ragged appearance.

Check out Tear Painter, a new Blender add-on from the Nodes Interactive team that lets you easily apply procedural wear and damage to your digital clothes and fabrics using brush strokes, giving them a worn-out appearance.

Powered by Geometry Nodes, Tear Painter comes with a comprehensive toolset that allows you to thoroughly tweak and customize the looks of the ripped cloth. It also allows you to apply procedural threads on the edges of tears, giving the mesh a realistic look, and provides full control over all layers of detail, which include tear, weave, preserved threads, fuzz, and border fuzz.

Other features include:

  • Five ready-to-use presets
  • Proxy transfer for high poly meshes
  • UVs
  • Geometry density
  • Taper threads
  • Cap ends

The add-on is compatible with Blender 4.1 and above. You can learn more and purchase Tear Painter by clicking this link.
