It's the first integration of Firefly in the Substance 3D ecosystem.
You can take AI under control when creating 3D masterpieces with this new addition to the Substance 3D apps. Adobe has introduced Firefly, its family of generative AI models, to Substance 3D Sampler and Stager.
Substance 3D Sampler 4.4 (beta) will see the Text-to-Texture feature, which uses Firefly to transform written prompts into photorealistic or stylized textures that can then be edited and applied to 3D objects. At the same time, Substance 3D Stager 3.0 (beta) will utilize the Generative Background feature, providing detailed 3D scenes generated with text descriptions and automatically adjusting the lighting.
"Adobe has always looked for new and innovative ways to put cutting-edge creative tools in the hands of designers and other artists," said Sebastien Deguy, Vice President, 3D & Immersive at Adobe. "By integrating Firefly's generative AI capabilities into Substance 3D, we're not just streamlining the creative process – we're unlocking new realms of creative possibility with new generative workflows designed to unlock human imagination, not replace it."
This update should bring creative freedom and faster workflows for industrial designers, professionals in the gaming and VFX industries, marketing specialists, and content creators.
Adobe Firefly attaches Content Credentials to assets created with its help, so you won't have to wonder whether it's human-made. The Credentials show the asset’s name, creation date, what tools were used. "Powered by free, open-source technology from the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), this data remains associated with the content wherever it is used, published or stored, enabling proper attribution and helping consumers make informed decisions about digital content."
The new Substance 3D tools will be showcased during Substance Days at GDC 2024. Find out more here and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
