Ampere: Alan Wake 2 Sold Around 850,000 Copies on Consoles

The game didn't make it to the top 100 on consoles in November.

Alan Wake 2 took home 3 prizes from the recently held The Game Awards 2023, which indicated the title's significance in the industry. However, how is it going in terms of sales?

According to the data from the Ampere analytics firm, its numbers could have been higher. Ampere's Piers Harding-Rolls reported that Alan Wake 2 had sold about 850,000 copies on consoles by the end of November. He assumed there would be "a fair amount of interest at a reduced price."

In the comments, many players claim that they'd buy the game if it had a physical version or if it was released on Steam, not on the Epic Games Store only. The TGA trophies might also attract more attention to the game and bring it some sales.

Mat Piscatella from Circana, another analytics company, shared that Alan Wake 2 ranked 147th in November active user count on Xbox and 113th on PlayStation 5, according to its Player Engagement Tracker – a less impressive result than expected from Remedy's latest hit. Granted, this data includes consoles only, so maybe the PC version is what people play the most.

Despite that, back in November, Remedy announced the game's release was successful, although I'm not sure what it thinks now, almost two months after the launch.
