The tool allows artists to use shape keys to set up facial expressions, supporting both stylized and realistic character faces.
Today, let's have a look at the incredible upcoming add-on for Blender being created by Niall "Vertex Arcade" Stenson, a 3D Artist and Game Developer who specializes on "turning 2D concepts into 3D models".
Dubbed Shape Key Selector, the soon-to-be-released tool is based on shape keys and acts as a game-style character creation menu, allowing the user to model/sculpt the exact facial expression they need for their projects. According to the series of demos shared by the author over the past few weeks, the add-on supports both stylized and realistic character faces, doesn't involve any rigging, and can even be used for lip sync and controlling eye direction.
Upon release, the creator also plans to share an insightful tutorial, explaining the nuances of the toolset and how it works:

As stated by Niall, the add-on is scheduled to be released sometime next week. We highly encourage you to follow the developer on Twitter so as not to miss the launch.
