Artist Explores Hand-Painted Texturing with a Stylized Weapon Prop Made in 3DCoat

Elisa Gonda blends painterly and comic-book techniques in this 3D axe.

These stylized hand-painted weapon props were brought to 3D by Game Artist Elisa Gonda, based on a concept by Character Concept Artist Lipan Liu (Rock.D).

The artist masterfully brought a painterly style to 3D, preserving distinct brushstrokes and adding a touch of bold comic-book aesthetics to the props, creating a remarkable piece of work.

With this project, Gonda explored stylized manner and hand-painted texturing tools. The artist used Maya for modeling, a combination of 3DCoat and Photoshop for texturing, and Marmoset Toolbag for rendering.
