Artist Recreates Akira's Dystopian World in 3D Using Blender
HavokNation did an amazing job.
Take a look at HavokNation's mind-blowing tribute to Akira, a 1988 Japanese animated film directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, made in Blender, with rendering completed in Cycles.
The artist brought the futuristic post-apocalyptic world to 3D, carefully modeling the skyscrapers, neon signage, and dense urban sprawl the film is known for. HavokNation shared that they have been studying Blender for about a year, and the project took around six months of on-and-off work.
The creator drew inspiration from another 3D recreation of Akira's world – Awaken Akira, created by Ash Thorp and Zaoeyo (XiaoLin Zeng) back in 2018. Check it out:

The dystopian world of Akira has been an inspiration for many artists. Theodore Daley, for example, shared recreations of Akira the anime in the style of the eponymous manga, which is the basis for the film:
