Check out this gorgeous 3D animation by Daniel Abrams, inspired by the anime The Summer Hikaru Died.
The animation captures the core feeling of the anime, where something beautiful and unsettling meets in an ordinary Japanese street. The creature looks innocent, but the glowing eyes show that something is off, which reflects the tone of The Summer Hikaru Died.
As for the technical part, the artist meticulously crafted every element of the scene and character for over 150 hours, with no AI involved – the work was made entirely in Blender. Abrams noted that lighting was one of the most time-consuming aspects of the project, requiring particular attention to capture the right atmosphere.
