Artist Unveils Work on Realistic Muscle Movement in Kaiju Animation
Kiel Figgins shared a sneak peek at a new setup.
3D Animator Kiel Figgins shared a glimpse of the animation work on Kaiju, with the 3D model of the creature made by 3D Artist Henning Sanden.
The artist has been working on fine-tuning how the creature's body deforms when it bends, specifically in key areas like joints and elbows. The creator set up a system featuring joint-based volume preservation, ensuring realistic muscle movement when a limb flexes.
Take a look at another WIP animation with Kaiju and the creature's 3D model:
Kiel Figgins' portfolio features many amazing rigged characters, such as this rig of an anthropomorphic fox in Martin Chang's animation, monster and web rigs in Kevin Portillo's Spider-Man setup, a character rigged setup in an anime-inspired work by Rotem Ninyo, and Murloc's rig in Matin Raeisi's animation, which was also made using Ancelmo Toledo's amazing 3D model:
