It looks like Asha Sharma, Xbox's new CEO, is trying to win as many points from players as possible. First, she lowered the Game Pass prices after the company hiked them by 50%, and now, she's giving away limited-edition consoles released for Xbox's 25th anniversary.
At the recent Xbox FanFest in LA, she appeared on the stage, thanked the fans, and dropped a huge bomb, promising everybody in attendance with a badge saying "fan" the new Series X25 consoles for free.
It looks like everybody had such a badge, so, understandably, players were ecstatic, and even those who didn't attend had to admit: this is a huge victory for Xbox, and Sharma is definitely winning people's hearts over with her strategies.
Xbox has been losing in the console war against PlayStation for a while, and this shake-up should boost the company's reputation and, hopefully, attract new users.
Maybe Xbox will be able to pleasantly surprise us all under the new management.
But for now, fans will have to wait for their free consoles, it seems, because they will be launched in November. The X25 has the performance of the Series X along with 1 TB of storage and a design "that reflects where we’ve been and the community that’s been with us along the way."
