ASUS Steam Deck Competitor ROG Ally Is Not April Fools' Joke

The price is unknown yet but concerning.

April Fools' Day is usually full of fun surprises, and ASUS's ROG Ally handheld revealed that day seemed like one of them – a joke. However, the company announced that the device is real and will be available for pre-order soon.

The company's first handheld is powered by Windows 11 and has AMD's Ryzen APU, "the fastest yet". Its Intelligent Cooling system makes sure the device doesn't overheat and stays silent while you're playing.

The Ally is smaller and lighter than Valve's Deck and offers a seven-inch 16:9 display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 500 nits of brightness, and a 120HZ refresh rate. There is a fingerprint sensor along the top and a standard setup of dual analog sticks and a D-pad.

ASUS hasn't shared any other details yet, including the price, but many people are concerned that the Ally won't be able to become a viable competitor to Steam Deck due to its price – the ROG series is not famous for being cheap.
