Meanwhile, the studio is also "actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series."
Proving previous findings from dataminers, speculations and hints regarding Persona 4 remake all real, Atlus has confirmed that the development of P4R: Persona 4 Revival is in the works and presents it with a teaser trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase:
Seen as an "it exists" or "we're making it" trailer by the fans, it showcases stunning updated visuals in the rural town area of Inaba.
The original Persona 4 was released in 2008. The story follows Yu Narukami, a high school student who befriends a group of classmates to investigate mysterious murders. An enhanced version of the game, Persona 4 Golden, was released for PlayStation Vita in 2012 and later ported to Windows, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Series X/S in the early 2020s, selling a total of 2.5 million copies globally by June 2021.
It seems likely that Japanese singer Shihoko Hirata, known for her contributions to Persona 4, will continue to lend her voice to songs in the remake. Earlier this year, she liked some comments expressing hope for a Persona 4 remake, leading many to believe that a remake was indeed happening.
Persona 4 Revival will be available for Xbox, PS5, and PC via Steam on day one for Game Pass subscribers, although the release window has not been revealed yet. Atlus promises to reveal further details at a later date.
In addition to the remake, fans are also excited about a potential update regarding Persona 6. Kazuhisa Wada, Director at P-STUDIO, stated that "we are actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series as a studio. We are working hard to meet the expectations of fans around the world and our work is progressing well."
