Autograph By Maxon Now Available For Free
Formerly developed by Left Angle, it's now free for individual artists, including commercial use.
Last year, Left Angle, the creator of Autograph, shut down, with its team moving to Maxon. Seen as an alternative to After Effects, the software's acquisition generated plenty of speculation within the community, and now Maxon has unveiled Autograph 2026, welcoming it into its product family.
Autograph continues to use Filament, a high-quality, real-time, physically-based renderer. Some tools have been renamed, such as Cloner (formerly Instancer), to align with Maxon's naming conventions. Certain features have been temporarily removed as adjustments are made and development continues.
You can now access Universe and all Red Giant OFX plug-ins directly within Autograph. Most importantly, Autograph is now free for individual users, something that wasn't the case under Left Angle. Pricing for other user plans has not yet been announced.
If you're not familiar with Autograph, it's a motion graphics and VFX/compositing application designed for creating animated logos, text, shapes, and transitions. Learn more and get it here.
Also, in case you missed it, Blender artists can now use V-Ray for free, even in commercial projects. Subscribe to our Newsletter, join our 80 Level Talent platform, and follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn, Telegram, and Instagram, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
