Axie Infinity: an NFT Game that Hit Over $1B in Sales

With over 2.4 million transactions, the Ethereum-based online game set a new record.

In this play-to-earn game, you can purchase Axies, adorable digital pets you need to play the game. Some of them are more or less affordable, the others are pretty pricey and can cost thousands of dollars. In the game, you can buy, then breed and sell your Axies which are minted as NFTs. The game is an absolute hit with 1 million daily players according to Axie Infinity's data posted on Twitter.

According to CryptoSlam's statistics, Axie Infinity's earnings only keep growing. In July 2021 alone, the sales reached $666M, and this month they're almost at $341M and we're not even halfway through August. At present, Axie Infinity’s in-game token AXS is priced at $42.53. The game was developed by a Vietnamese studio Sky Mavis and released in 2018.
