Banjo-Kazooie Arrives On PC Thanks To Fan-Made Port
It supports ultrawide screens, along with mods, improved controls, and more.
Despite being nearly 30 years old and originally developed for the Nintendo 64, Banjo-Kazooie remains one of the most beloved classic game franchises, retaining a dedicated fanbase that has now brought the game to modern PC platforms.
Banjo: Recompiled is a project that builds on N64: Recompiled to create a native port of Banjo-Kazooie, adding numerous new features, improvements, and extensive mod support. It also has higher frame rate support and compatibility with widescreen and ultrawide aspect ratios.
Please note that Banjo: Recompiled doesn't include the game's assets: you need to own the original game to play. Check out the project's GitHub repository here.
Projects like this keep popping up, and decompiled versions of various Nintendo games are appearing online, giving fans hope that they might be playable again, even though it would take a ton of effort. We also recently got confirmation that about 89% of the signatures for Ross Scott's Stop Killing Games initiative were verified as legit, well over the European Parliament's requirement of 1 million signatories from at least seven EU countries.
