Beautiful Procedural Ponytail Simulated with Blender's Geometry Nodes

MJV3D shows that detailed hair is possible in Blender.

Michael Vaughan, also known as MJV3D, showed a nicely made procedural ponytail he created using Blender's Geometry Nodes for his game called Bronze.

The simulation was done on the guide curves and looks incredible, especially considering that Blender is not known as a software designed for grooming. But Vaughan proves that it can be a great alternative to XGen or Ornatric in the right hands if you need it.

We should soon get a tutorial on how to achieve this quality, so if you're interested in Vaughan's work, check out his X/Twitter, where you'll find such interesting projects as this fringe simulation, laces, and eyelash generator.
