If you are a fan of design and typography, make sure to check out this newly released indie game – Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts from developer Yaza Games and publisher Mythwright. 

The game is a cozy and relaxing creative space spiced by hilarious and bizarre medieval humor. You can follow the Story mode and take commissions, creating illustrations for battles and romances, decorating love letters and blackmail notes, designing maps, masquerade balls, or bizarre artworks. The requests might surprise you – from grand battles between snails and knights to scenes of peace, love, and the plague, and every new request helps shape a royal drama.

If you want to be an artist and focus on pure creativity, there's a Sandbox Mode, where you have a blank parchment, a huge library of medieval assets, and the freedom to create whatever artwork you want.

You can recreate a historic manuscript or craft your own design. The composition screen is your workshop that has parchment of different shades, sizes, and shapes, where you can add illustrations and inscriptions. The design of the assets is inspired by real medieval manuscripts, and you have a library of over 1000 images at your disposal, from beasts and bugs to princes and animals, as well as clothing, vegetation, and decorative elements. The text is crafted using medieval fonts with ornate uppercase letters to ensure the authentic look of your creations.

With Scriptorium, you can craft letters and invitations, decorated song lyrics and illustrated quotes, stickers, desktop wallpapers, fantasy maps, memes, and more. You can then export your artwork as a PNG optimized for printing and social sharing.
