Become Lost & Found Office Worker In This Indie Game With Unique Mixed-Media Style
It's 2007, and you're a laid-off artist who returns to your hometown and takes the only job available.
With a premise that hits close to home in today's reality, Lost & Found is a solo-developed game by Kurt Reodica, also known as ShaggyBearGames. You take on the role of Rico, a laid-off artist who struggles to find work in the city and is ultimately forced to return to his hometown of Luisiana.
But the town has changed. Friends have moved abroad, businesses are shutting down, and familiar hangout spots have fallen into decay. Rico takes the only job he can find: managing the town's crumbling Lost and Found office.
Rico must return each item to its rightful owner, but not everyone is honest in Luisiana. Some will try to claim things that aren't theirs, so you'll need to pay attention, gather clues, and spot the lies. Every item tells a story, and giving it to the wrong person will change how the story unfolds.
The visuals were made using a mix of tools, including Unity, Photoshop, Krita, Blender, Aseprite, and Toon Boom:

The developer cites shows like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Dexter's Laboratory, and Ed, Edd n Eddy as early inspirations, later joined by The Amazing World of Gumball for its chaotic storytelling and mixed-media style. Beyond aesthetics, the 2023 film Perfect Days by Wim Wenders also served as an influence. Narratively, the game draws inspiration from titles like Night in the Woods and Return of the Obra Dinn.
