Blasphemous Meets Hollow Knight In This Blood-Splattering Roguelike

Ichorous is now live on Kickstarter.

Ichorous is a pretty brutal pixel art-style game about killing enemies and using their blood to get stronger. You play as the Warlock, who's made a pact with the banished god of blood, the Patron. Your job is to hunt down all sorts of horrific creatures and collect their divine blood, Ichor (a little nod to Greek mythology). In exchange, the Patron rewards you with cursed upgrades that make you more powerful, but also make each run a little harder.

After each level, you'll return to the Patron and hand over the Ichor you've collected. Once you're back out in the world, it's time to make your way to the next level. These in-between stages are called Events, and they can be all sorts of things: a short level, a boss fight, a shop, or even a wanderer on their own adventure.

As the Warlock, you can use the blood of your enemies to heal yourself, but Ichor is more than just a way to stay alive, it's a tool to build strength. Ichor is an incredibly powerful substance: its corrupting influence warps and twists impure creatures, reshaping their bodies to reflect their deepest desires. While you explore the world of the game, you'll come across various groups that have become dependent on Ichor. From Ichor-worshipping cults and adrenaline-fueled corpses to delusional limb grafters and disdainful alchemists, all kinds of twisted characters stand in your way as you try to fulfill the Patron's wishes.
