Blender 5.0 Tested On iPad By 3D Artist Before Release

See what Sergei Almazov has to say.

This summer, after much anticipation, remote solutions, and unofficial ports, Blender was officially announced to be coming to mobile devices. The initial platform for this launch is the Apple iPad Pro with Apple Pencil, with plans to expand to Android and other graphic tablets in the future.

Sergei Almazov tested the currently available iOS version on the iPad Pro 11" (M2) and reported that the experience is quite satisfying.

"Cycles works fine! UI is not yet optimised for sculpting, and rotation around objects with gestures is not so obvious and snappy like in ZBrush or Nomad. There are some errors in it while trying to change numerical fields, but it's an Alpha version.

It's amazing to check what's coming and will definitely be checking that progress with the iOS branch of the Blender source code repository. Having Nomad on iPad is good, but Blender is Blender, and you can do a lot of things on the go", commented Sergei.

Here's the GitHub link for the iOS project, where you can find the iPad-specific code and check it out yourself.

Speaking of Blender 5.0, it just entered the Beta version, bringing major updates to the Compositor, and more:
