Blood of Dawnwalker's Time Mechanic Might Not Return in the Sequel

Would you prefer the game with it or not?

The Blood of Dawnwalker is one of the fastest-selling games of 2026, selling over 1 million copies in just three days. It's an open-world RPG that has you playing as Coen, a human by day and a vampire by night, who has to save his family.

A few days after the game's release, the studio confirmed that it was already working on the sequel; the plan is for The Blood of Dawnwalker to become a saga, with multiple games expanding on Coen's story.

One of the main mechanics of the game is that the player has 30 days and 30 nights to save Coen's family, but time moves only when he does a task or quest. It's a system that not everyone has been very fond of.

When asked in an interview with Eurogamer whether the time mechanic is a central element of the series, Game Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz revealed that it might not be the same in future titles.

"We will play with it. If we will have parts of the story, or the whole story, to which it fits, then we will use it. If we will have stories where it does not fit, we will not force it. We will play with this system and we will try to use it to boost the urgency of some events in the game. But I'm not saying that in every game we will have the same scheme or loop - it's not like this," said Tomaszkiewicz.

The director acknowledged the complaints of some players and even the existence of a mod that removes the time system, saying that it's fine if someone decides to play without it, but he wants to encourage people to try the game with the time mechanic first.

He also added that the studio is considering and researching some other ideas that could be added to the RPG genre to make it different and surprising.
