Browser-Based Pixel Art Editor With Live CRT Effect
Try pixtube now.
komm64's pixtube is a small pixel art editor that runs in the browser and comes with a built-in CRT shader, so you can draw pixel art or drop in an image and instantly see how it looks on a simulated cathode ray tube in real-time.
It's still very much a work in progress, so things might change, get updated, or disappear along the way. The idea came from the developer wanting to simplify their own workflow: for a long time, they kept going back and forth between editing pixel art, checking it in the game with a CRT shader, making tweaks, and testing it again.
A standalone version is something komm64 might look into later, but for now, everything reportedly stays local on your device. You can also export or save your projects as .dpix files and open them again whenever you want, so your work isn't locked to the website.
pixtube requires WebGPU support, available in Chrome and Edge on desktop, as well as Safari on iOS 26 and later. Try it by clicking here.
