Rumors of Call of Duty not getting a new game next year emerged in February, but it seems the fans will see something new as Modern Warfare II will allegedly receive an expansion in 2023.
First spread by the Call of Duty leaker Hope on Twitter and then supported by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, the news states that a campaign DLC is to be released in late 2023, possibly together with a map pack.
The next installment of the Call of Duty franchise, which has been delayed until 2024, will be developed by Treyarch, previously responsible for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Hope also said it will cover "Operation Iraqi Freedom" and "Operation Enduring Freedom."
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is going to be released on October 28, 2022.
