Castle-Building Mode Prototype For A Unity Game

Kacper Szwajka shared a new WIP of his castle-building and defense game, Highland Keep.

Technical Artist and the author of GPU-accelerated real-time procedural terrain placement in Unity guide Kacper Szwajka, who recently impressed us with a custom grass renderer developed for real-time strategy with dinosaurs Dinolords, unveiled a new WIP of his own game, Highland Keep, presenting the castle-building mode with a satisfying tree effect.

In the interview with usKacper revealed that the terrain placement technique described in his guide was primarily developed for his upcoming "The Forest meets Stronghold Crusader" Unity-powered survival-strategy game, a mix of third-person survival and classic RTS castle-building. Described as "medieval Scotland", Highland Keep is still mainly focused on castle-building and defense:

Since the last time we covered the game's progress with nature's collision logic, Kacper has made significant progress. The Steam page for Highland Keep is still under development, but the project's website just went live.
