Chaos Group Shares A Preview of Project Lavina
14 August, 2019

Chaos Group has shared a look at their Project Lavina with 100% ray tracing in real-time, originally revealed at SIGGRAPH 2019.

Please note that the demo recorded using dual NVIDIA RTX 8000s, but the team states that the same ray-tracing performance is expected on dual RTX 2080 Ti GPUs.

Lavina (beta is just around the corner) is a new product for exploring and manipulating V-Ray scenes within a 100% ray-traced environment in real-time, so it’s basically a new system to test your ideas.

Currently supported in Project Lavina:

  • Animation support
  • Multiple RTX card support
  • Enhanced camera controls
  • A new noise algorithm
  • Collision detection
  • Material swapping
  • LUT additions
  • Scene merging
  • Transformation/selection of objects
  • Interactive depth of field

You can learn more about the project here.

The goal of the ClearCut courses is to teach you a solid workflow that is used in the AAA game industry. The first episode covers the process of creating an AAA fire hydrant from start to finish.

Any future updates are included and will be available for download in case they are released. Next episodes are not included.
