Check Out How DNEG Worked on The Gilded Age Season 2's VFX

See the train, buildings, and crowds as they were before effects.

The magic of VFX is a familiar sight for artists, but this doesn't make it less impressive. Today, let's see how DNEG made the world of The Gilded Age shine in Season 2.

In the VFX breakdown, you can see that the team reshaped several buildings and environments, building on top of green screens and existing structures. Moreover, the crowded meetings were not as full in reality: DNEG added people to some scenes as well.

The massive train you saw in the season was also entirely made in 3D, according to the video, although you might not have noticed it before – that's how well it was done.

If you wish to see DNEG's efforts, watch the historical drama series The Gilded Age on HBO.

"The series follows the conflicts surrounding the new money Russell family and their old money neighbors, the van Rhijn family, in 1880s New York City high society," as IMDb describes it.
