Wilderless by Protopop Games is a beautiful open-world exploration with fascinating forests, mountains, lakes, and more.

Protopop Games, a Solo Developer of Nimian Legends, Meadowfell, and Wilderless, unveiled this fascinating setup showcasing splash effects of the rivers featured in the latter title.

The developer explained that the river with splashes was created using a base river mesh with a vertex displacement shader, along with particles. The procedural rivers will feature in the next update of Wilderless 2.2 and Meadowfell 2.2.

Wilderless is an open-world exploration set in a fantasy nature realm, where you can walk, hike, and take photos. The beautiful procedurally generated world doesn't have any quests or enemies – just exploration and relaxation while wandering through mountains, flowery green hills, frozen lakes, and more. The atmosphere is enhanced by diverse soundtracks for different moods.
