nojoule was inspired by Binbun's parallax portal.
3D Artist nojoule showcased these amazing pixel portal VFX set up with Godot.
The artist shared that to create a distinct pixel-style effect, they used the dithering effect, which made rugged borders, and added some outlines. However, as shared by the creator, each case of creating pixel-style effects and textures is different and requires individual tweaks.
nojoule generously shared the shaders on itch.io. The setups feature stylization options, parallax effect, basic animation for open and close, and more. Have a closer look:
