Check Out These Surreal Transitions Between Locations Made with UE5

Fascinating crossfading effect created by Damp Squid.

Developer Damp Squid showcased a mesmerizing effect of transitioning between the environments with a custom crossfading system made using Unreal Engine 5.

The system works in real time, ensuring a seamless and immersive change of location. Damp Squid explained that the effect is achieved with a scene capture aligned to the player camera, offset to the destination, and rendered onto a widget displayed on the player's screen. The widget then fades in and out depending on the player's distance from the teleportation point. Once the player is teleported, the widget fades out completely.
