Pasquale Scionti, a Principal Lighting/Lookdev Artist and one of the most prolific Environment Artists the world has ever seen, strikes again by sharing a couple of demos showcasing a marvelous new 3D scene powered by Unreal Engine 5.
Delve deep into The Dark Swamps, a WIP environment that captivates you with its eerie ambiance, depicting a lonely hut amidst a windy marshland during a raging storm. Created using UE5.3, the scene's lighting setup relies on the combination of HDR and Directional Light, along with physically-based light values. Additionally, Pasquale employed Dmitry Karpukhin's Sky Creator, a renowned plug-in that enables one to control dynamic weather and time of day in Unreal Engine, to set up fog and rain.
The most recent showcase also features a medieval-looking character and a simple UI, hinting that Pasquale's goal for this project might be to set up an RPG prototype with striking graphics:
