Check Out This Dark, Atmospheric Puzzle Platformer Developed In UE 5

Ayasa: Shadows of Silence is set to launch later this year.

Indie game studio Aya Games is developing Ayasa: Shadows of Silence using Unreal Engine 5. It is a dark platformer that combines quests, horror, and puzzles into an exhilarating adventure.

Recently, they've shared a clip showcasing the protagonist's journey through a gloomy, perilous environment to collect the sparks that dispel the darkness and seemingly relive the death elephant.

The story is set in The Inverted World, the once harmonious place now threatened by darkness. You take control of Ayasa, who will journey through and survive in the devastated lands of Faith, Hope, Love, Greed, Indifference, and Betrayal, uncovering the secrets that are deeply hidden.

As you explore the dark and surreal world, consisting of six realms, you'll encounter intricate puzzles that require logic, timing, and creativity to resolve. The game's light and shadow mechanics allow players to use lights to discover hidden paths and control shadows to navigate treacherous environments. "Experience a deeply atmospheric journey with a blend of horror and surrealism," the game's description reads.

The following footage allows us to dive deeper into the gameplay, highlighting its intense chase, atmospheric environment, and more:

The team plans to release Ayasa later this year, and a free demo is available on Steam for those eager to try the game. Besides Steam, the game will also be released on the Epic Games Store and VK Play upon its launch.
