Nicolas Niño, a talented Character Artist who previously joined 80 Level to discuss his workflow for creating appealing real-time characters, has recently offered a look at the highly-realistic 3D human mouth model he made a few years back as part of Think Tank Training Centre's course.
The goal of the class, Nicolas commented, was to set up a real-time mouth from scratch without using scans. The pipeline consisted of modeling and sculpting the mouth in Maya and ZBrush, texturing it in Substance 3D Painter using procedural techniques and hand painting for smaller details, and rendering the model in Marmoset Toolbag.
