The film follows the story of a young hopeful Knight reporting for duty at the King's court. But he is not aware yet that slaying dragons might not be the biggest challenge. "Freelance is a comedy that deals with themes of resilience, professional frustration, mental health, and work ethic." The movie is set in medieval times, but it humorously references the modern problems of freelance workers.
